Anti-wrinkles injections are used for the treatment of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines. It may also be used to treat bunny lines on the nose, lift the corners of the mouth, alleviate platysmal bands (turkey neck), bobbly chin and fine lines around the mouth or excessive sweating problems.

Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process. With age, our skin gets thinner, drier and we lose elastin. The ability of our skin to protect itself is reduced as we age. Eventually, wrinkles, creases, and lines form on our skin.

Continuous muscle contraction is also another major contributor to facial wrinkles. Continuous muscle movement causes ‘dynamic wrinkles’ which only appear when the muscle is used.

Over time, if we left untreated, the wrinkles will become ‘static wrinkles’ which means they will be difficult to remove and over the time they become permanently etched in our skin.

How many treatments I need?

The effects of treatment last up to six months. Repeat injections are required to maintain your appearance. After several treatments, results begin to last longer. Therefore, repeat treatments may only be required every six months as part of a maintenance plan.

What are the results?

Within three to five days of treatment, the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other treated areas drastically reduce and after 10 days you will see the full results, treated skin appears more smooth and youthful, whilst untreated facial muscles work as usual, allowing for normal facial expressions.

Will It ‘Freeze my Face’ and leave me expressionless?

No. A Doctor or a qualified nurse has the medical knowledge to minimize the possible loss of facial expression by targeting the injection into the specific muscles responsible for the wrinkles.

What are the side-effects?

Anti-Wrinkles injections are safe treatment. Side effects are rare but may occur. Effects can include bruising at the injection site or headaches. Another rare effect is a slight dropping of the eyelid, which lasts an average of one week.

Does It leave my face numb?

No. There is no numbing sensation of the skin.

How long will It last?

Results may vary but typically last 4-6 months. Repeated treatments have been shown to prolong results.

When Will I Notice A Difference?

Results begin to appear in approximately 3-5 days. The most dramatic effects are seen after 1-2 weeks.

What can and can’t I do after the treatment?

During the first four hours after treatment, patients are advised not to do vigorous exercises, indulge in excessive drinking of alcohol or lean head down. Other daily activities may continue as normal.

How will I look after the treatment?

There is slight redness around the injection site, which disappears within a few hours. Applying ice to the site assists in the reduction of redness.

Are the Injections painful?

Most patients only experience mild discomfort.

Who is suitable for Anti-Wrinkles Injections?

Almost everyone is a candidate for the Injections. Exceptions include people who take certain medications and women who are pregnant or breast feeding.

How does it work?
