Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections
Aqualyx™ is an injectable solution used to dissolve localised fat deposits in areas such as the hips, saddle bags, thigh, knees jowls, chin and more.AQUALYXTM is injected directly into the fat tissue, administration of anaesthesia is usually not required. After the injectionsthe body expels the released fatty acids naturally. The number of treatments required varies depending on the thickness of fat to be removed. There Is minimal downtime and no generalAnaesthetic risks. The Specialised needles allowsmall areas to be tackled effectively.
As there are noincisions, stitches are not required, and scarring is unlikely. Destroying The fat cells leads to a Long-lasting solution provided patients remain at a stable Weight and continue exercise as usual.
Aqualyx™ (Intra-lipotherapy) can be used as a means of moderate reduction of fat tissue as well as a treatment against benign adipoma for patients who do not want to undergo surgery. To date, not one single phenomenon of overdose or intoxication has been recorded. Intervals between treatments should amount to three to four weeks. The amount of treatments can vary between two and eight sittings according to the characteristics of the treated area. In support of the therapy, a Meso Firming treatment can be administered after to tighten the skin if the patient has lost skin.
About 1% of treated patients have experienced nil to minimal effects after intra-lipotherapy.
Aqualyx™ works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling that lasts 3-5 days. This swelling can be obvious when having facial treatments (e.g.chin). During this time, you may want to organize time off work / social engagements. Swelling can be reduced with the use of a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth and used for a maximum of 20 minutes.
Do not use any anti-inflammatory tablets for 48 hours.
Typically, 1-3 treatments for small areas (e.g. jowls) and 2-8 treatments for larger areas (e.g. thighs) at six weekly intervals. A minimum of two treatments will be required to improve the final outcome.
During Intra-lipotherapy AQUALYX™ is injected directly into the subcutaneous fat tissue using very thin, sharp cannulas. Within the following weeks, the treated fat cells are gradually dissolved. The metabolism in the treated area is increased. Intra-lipotherapy is intended for patients with localised adipose tissue not responding to diet or increased physical exercise. Intra-lipotherapy is notintended for weight loss, it is used to improve and alter the contour of the body. Results cannot be compared to a liposuction,as that is an operative method of fat reduction where large amounts of fat are permanently removed from the body.
The results of intra-lipotherapy are permanent, however the procedure takes time to reach its full effect. Patients that have undergone follow-up examinations seven years after therapy still show a relevant diminution of fat tissue in the treated areas. Intra-lipotherapy is an aesthetic-medicinal treatment that is generally not reimbursable by government or private health care insurers. The patient must bear all expenses.
AQUALYX™ was developed by the renowned aesthetic surgeon Prof. Pasquale Motolese in 2002 and has been used for many years in different countries of the European Community and abroad. The manufacturer Marllor states sales of two million vials in two years. No major side effects occurred, and the treatment was well-tolerated
